What size chimney liner do I need?
Posted by admin
My furnace has an input BTU of 75,000 and my hot water heater has an input BTU of 35,000? It is a 4 inch pipe from the water heater into the chimney and 4 inch from the furnace. Is a 4 inch liner proper in this case? It is an 18 ft. chimney.
You need probably 5" but you do not give total vent height and length of lateral distance if any.
If you still have the furnace installation manual or can find it on line it will have a venting section on the sizing.
Here is vent table that will show you.http://icpindexing.mqgroup.com/documents/076416/gama%20vent%20tab.pdf
How to determine the test prossure for a pipe line?
Posted by admin
Piping line schedule is not available. The test pressure is not known. The line is to be hydrotested urgently. We know the piping material, pipe schedule and pipe size. Is it posible to determine the test pressure
If you already know the pipe schedule, pipe size, and wall thickness, you should be able to find what the pressure rating is for the pipe.

Is for schedule 40 PVC pipe.
You should be able to do the same thing by putting what kind of pipe and schedule into Google search.
Polio Eradication in India
Posted by admin
The polio crisis of the early 20th century has been largely forgotten in the U.S. due to the effective immunization campaigns of the 1950s. Unfortunately, the wild poliovirus (WPV) still remains a real public health threat in many corners of the world with a disproportionate number of cases in India. This session of Public Health Grand Rounds focuses on current efforts to contain the remaining polio cases in India, as well as discuss measures needed to completely eradicate this public health burden globally.
